Rima Salamoun is a Syrian contemporary visual artist born in Damascus in 1963. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University (1987), she is known for her expressive figurative paintings in acrylic and mixed media that explore themes of human emotion, memory, loss, and resilience. Her work has been exhibited across the Middle East and Europe, including the 54th Venice Biennale, and is recognized for its anonymous human figures that convey universal experiences of sorrow, compassion, and hope.
