Juhayda Al Bittar
Syrian Artist
Juhayda Al Bittar is a Syrian contemporary artist born in Damascus in 1991. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Damascus University in 2013 and later completed a Master’s degree in Painting, focusing on the influence of Byzantine painting on contemporary Syrian art. Her practice has evolved from figurative painting toward abstraction, employing expressive compositions, vivid colour, and spontaneous yet delicate brushwork. Drawing on memory, emotion, personal experience, and a close observation of nature, Al Bittar uses colour and form as a means of exploring complex emotional states, including nostalgia, hope, and resilience. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Syria and internationally, including in Lebanon, Italy, Albania, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. She currently lives and works in the United Arab Emirates.
