Fadi Yazigi
Syrian Artist
Fadi Yazigi is a Syrian contemporary artist born in Latakia in 1966. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University with a degree in Sculpture in 1988 and has since developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, bronze sculpture, relief, and mixed media. His work centers on the human condition, exploring everyday life, human relationships, memory, and the emotional experiences of individuals within Syrian society. Yazigi’s figurative paintings are characterized by expressive, spontaneous lines and recurring faces and bodies, while his sculptures often present fragmented or exaggerated human forms. Through continuous experimentation with materials and techniques, he creates a distinctive visual language that reflects both the intimacy of individual experience and the broader social realities surrounding it. He lives and works in Damascus, and his work has been exhibited extensively across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the United States, and is held in public and private collections internationally.
